Blue Man Group

Wow. So many things to blog about and not enough time. I'll get around to them, I promise! I've been doing so many fun things that I want to tell you about. But right now I'm just too busy, busy, busy to put it all down.

Just wanted to write a quick post about Blue Man Group, which I saw last night. It was great! Very, very unconventional, creative, and stimulating. I liked it. Particularly, I liked the message of the show. Well, my interpretation of the show. To me, the show made a statement about modern art and artists. Modern art can be beautiful and elegant in its simplicity, but throwing a rotten fish on a canvas and calling it art is just ridiculous. And just because you incorporate technology in your art, there is no excuse to compromise technique and talent. Then the Blue Men showed us how it should be done - how new forms of art can be just as smart, beautiful, tasteful and powerful as art from the Renaissance. How modern tools can be used at channels of beautiful work, not excuses for them. They did this by executing their message through mime, color, percussion music, rock and roll, paint, electronic message boards and toilet paper. Yes, toilet paper. Seriously, when will you ever have a chance to pull and pull on rolls and rolls of paper towels? Who doesn't want to have a rave party in a sea of paper towels under black light? Go see the show. It'll be like nothing you've ever seen before. Just don't sit in the front.
